With the dawn’s first light may I come
In darkest night, or noon of brightest day
A glimmering jewel of beauty, without price
Near you as you pause along your way
I am the light that shines out from your soul
I am the lover lost unto the night
In daylight and in shadow do I lie
I am the wrong that never can be right
I’m with the son whose father speaks no more
With parents as their child comes to life
I have been, and shall be forevermore
In happiness, in sorrow and in strife
When you have found a wonder to behold
When you are lost, encompassed by your plight
Call to me, and swifly I’ll become
The single tear that glistens with your might
